Ad Astra Treble Chorus is one of 91¿´Æ¬â€™s premier choral ensembles, composed of treble-voiced singers who perform a range of choral repertoire throughout the academic year. The ensemble participates in campus concerts alongside other OCU choirs, including collaborative performances, regional tours, and featured concert events, contributing to OCU's rich performance tradition.

University Chorale

University Chorale at 91¿´Æ¬ is an auditioned mixed choir that brings together voices from across the campus community to perform a wide range of choral repertoire. The ensemble offers students a significant performance experience, appearing in scheduled choral concerts throughout the academic year and contributing to signature events such as the annual Christmas Vespers and other collaborative programs that highlight OCU's vibrant vocal music offerings.

University Singers

University Singers is an auditioned mixed choral ensemble and one of OCU's most rigorous and competitive vocal groups. This ensemble performs a broad range of repertoire and appears regularly in major campus concerts, including fall and winter choral programs, performances alongside other OCU choirs and orchestral forces, and regional tours. University Singers has been featured as a collegiate choral honor ensemble at professional events such as the 91¿´Æ¬ Music Educators Association convention, reflecting its high artistic standards and commitment to performance excellence.

Choral Auditions
OCU Major Ensembles (Orchestra, Wind Bands, Choirs, Jazz) are open to music majors and non-major students alike.Â
The Choral Placement auditions Schedule will be announced shortly before the start of each semester. Incoming freshmen and transfer students audition during Orientation Week each August. Materials and musical examples are shared shortly before each semester.
Auditions for choir placement will take place in Dr. Karsten Longhurst's office (Bass Center B207). A prepared example will be provided when you schedule your audition time. The audition also includes general vocalizing and sight-reading.
