Biography
Kayla Lashley is physical therapist from 91¿´Æ¬ City. She is married to her husband, Jason, who is a nurse at OU Health Hospital. They are both dog lovers and have accumulated 4 dogs in their home. Prior to entering academia, Kayla spent the first 7 years of her career treating patients at OU Health hospital with a focus in the neurologic and cardiac intensive care units. Additionally, she served as the Coordinator for Education and Research for the rehabilitation department of OU Health where she mentored numerous clinical students and new physical therapists, developed practice guidelines, and maintained staff competencies. She has continued her clinical practice in multiple inpatient rehabilitation hospitals in the 91¿´Æ¬ City metro area. Kayla began serving as a lab assistant in the OCU Doctor of Physical Therapy Program during the 2025-2026 school year than transitioned to full time faculty in the summer of 2026. She has a passion for neurological rehabilitation, with a specific emphasis in stroke.
